I am not sure what I'm doing, but I got inspired by reading a blog from Mary Kay about her adventures in the 70's. Made me think about all the things that happened in my life, especially the years of the late 60's and early 70's. Not sure where this will go, but this is my first posting. Born in Florida in '43, early years in Chicago, grew up on Long Island ('49 - '61), New York, went to all the Alan Freed Rock & Roll shows at the Brooklyn Paramount, drank too too much. Moved to Honolulu in '61 to go to college and escape from my Mom. Flunked out (always drunk). Got draft notice, enlisted in Air Force in '65, went back to college under a scholarship in '69, got turned on, stayed stoned for most of the next 11 years. Got clean and sober in 80. Enought for now. Maybe more details later...maybe not. Writing this stuff isn't easy.

  1. Hi Dave,

What a coincidence- I ended up moving to Macon via someone from Warner Robins, lived there off and on for about 10 years, now back in Birmingham. I got inspired by the Henrix video from the Byron Pop Festival, and the more I thought about it, the more I realized how rich those times were. I am going to do something next on comedy, especially the Fire Sign Theatre, a national treasure in my opinion. Best wishes to you on your blog! Mary Kay

  2. Hi Mry Kay, Just thinking about you and wondering how you are. Still going to plenty of concerts, recently the 2 day concert in NY with the Eagles, Steely Dan, Earth, Wind, & Fire, Journey, Fleetwood Mac, Dooby Brothers. Also going to see the Eagles and James Taylor together later in July. What have you been up to? Me, clean and sober now for almost 38 years, just had my 75th birthday, which I can't believe. Take care, Aloha,

    David
